The Transportation Education Foundation Launches 2025 Joseph H. Wright, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Program

The Transportation Education Foundation is proud to announce that the 2025 Joseph H. Wright, Jr. Memorial Scholarship application is officially open! This scholarship program is dedicated to supporting course expenses and professional development for individuals aspiring to build careers in transportation and logistics, including trucking, railroad, and air transportation. With a special focus on boosting diversity within the industry, the scholarship aims to empower a new generation of leaders from all backgrounds.The Foundation invites nominations and applications from passionate individuals ready to take the next step toward achieving their career or educational goals in transportation. Whether candidates are already part of the industry or newly exploring it, this opportunity is designed to support their journey. There is no age requirement for eligibility.In a powerful show of community support, the Foundation hosted a fundraising event on March 29, 2025, where local leaders and residents came together to raise funds to expand the scholarship program. Mayor Reggie Burgess served as the keynote speaker, Geno Jones was the master of ceremonies, and the family of Joseph H. Wright, Jr., was in attendance to honor his legacy. Thanks to the generosity of the community, the Foundation is on track to award even more scholarships this year, with an ambitious goal of providing 10 scholarships at the 2025 Charleston Trucking Expo.
